Percentage Formulas
Finding X% of Y
Result = Y x (X / 100). Example: 25% of 200 = 200 x 0.25 = 50.
Finding What % X is of Y
Percentage = (X / Y) x 100. Example: 50 is (50/200) x 100 = 25% of 200.
Percentage Change
Change % = ((New - Old) / Old) x 100. Positive = increase, negative = decrease.
Reverse Percentage
If something is $120 after a 20% increase, original = 120 / 1.20 = $100.
