About NPS
What is NPS?
National Pension System is a government-sponsored retirement scheme. It invests in equity, corporate bonds, and government securities.
Tax Benefits
NPS offers tax deduction under Section 80CCD(1B) up to INR 50,000 over and above 80C limit. Employer contribution is deductible under 80CCD(2).
Annuity Rules
At retirement, minimum 40% must be used to buy an annuity. The remaining 60% can be withdrawn tax-free.
Asset Allocation
NPS offers Active and Auto choice. Active lets you pick equity/debt mix. Auto adjusts allocation based on age.
